Presenting Paul Nowles, I am so pleased to welcome him to Double Standards. I have been a fan of Pauls for a couple of months now and I am now glad to be able to bring him to Trivy Isle.

His First performance will be Sunday 10th at 1pm SLt and he will be doing an Hour set for us.

For those of you have not heard of Paul his play list includes songs by The Eagles, Bon Jovi, Warren Zevon, Peter Gabriel and Bob Seager.

He also Writes and sings some of his own Original Tracks.

He performs all over SL, also doing events to help raise money for American Cancer Society.
Born and raised in Cleveland OH,he has been surrounded by Rock and roll his whole life and is an accomplished studio musician in RL.

Happy New year Junkies.

New Year New Decade and i have Big Plans for Trivy Isle. This Year will see return of Smartasstermind. We will be changing up the events, welcoming new hosts who want to bring their own events to Trivy Isle. Smart Ass will not disappear but we want to bring a variety to your Trivia Schedule.

At end of 2009 we welcomed Lockette Gadgets, Smexy Town and i am sure you all know Metal Shop. Hope you will alltake a look around these areas, help support each other on the sim so we can all benefit from new events, new talent and welcome more friends.

I do want to change around a few event times and add new bitesize events, I am a casual event attender so would like any and all VIPs suggestions for times as the events are for you.

Once again thank you for supporting us. This year we will celebrate our second birthday and it is all down to you the VIPs who come down have fun and support our Hosts. Which of course with out my Hosts the sim would be nothing.

So Happy New Year and lets make 2010 even better that 2009.

Charity Triviathon

The ultimate in trivia events, 24 hours non stop Can you Handle it?

We are going to fry your brains with the cream of the crop in Hosts, providing us with a variety of events all in the aid of raising money for Relay for life.

Relay for Life is a charity that works with American cancer society. Working together with the public to raise money for cancer research and develope new treatments to help cure millions of people across the world.

This event is our first fundraiser, it will be a dress rehersal to prepare us for March when the 100's of teams across Sl compete to raise the Most money for the charity. Are aim this weekend is to raise L$20,000 and as i am writing this blog we have already raised L$1500.

Hosts are donating there time and money to bring you great trivia all day (literally) we Start 10am Saturday and finish 10 am Sunday .

All we ask is that you come down have some fun and donate as much or as little as you can to the huge thermometer on stage.

Team Smart ass Tshirts will also be on stage for sale at L$1 all proceeds to go to the charity.

We Hope to see many new faces and hope to get people who know nothing of trivia in SL hooked and coming back for more.

The trivia area is where we host our events (obviously) we have Trivia events on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Event times can be found in event search under 'Trivia'.

NEW to Sundays we have Open Mike night, live music and dancing in the park.

To sign up for a slot IM Hummingbird Forster we can provide a stream or you can use your own.

7Seas Fishing

7seas fishing is available at all times to just enjoy with friends or partner. Though we do have a 24 Hour Fishing Marathon every week.

It starts at 12noon Mondays and finished on the noon Tuesday. 1000 Lindens up for grabs 600/300/100 donations to the pot are welcome

Spontaneous competitions sometimes occur and you will be notified in the Double standards group or 7seas social chat group

So come down and sit around the pond or try the private couple area for fishing, you just got to find it :P
Cave

Cave area has dances and cuddles, excellent for couples to spend some private time together.

EXCEPT Saturdays 8-11pm where Chaos Trivia takes place in its new home, run AMOK with Lette, Reke and Rach. Truth or Dare trivia at its best.

A mature event where prudity has no place.

Use the Main TP point to get to the cave if your lazy. Or Take a walk round the sim and find it over the bridge.

POMEGRANATE SORBET

It was the long awaited battle, and it was a hard fought one. But the victor we now know is Pomegranate Sorbet.

Pom and Trai faced each other for a Weakest link based Final, after both recieving an amazing 19 points each in the rounds. Trai proved tough competition and both got through their five questions each tied with 1 a piece, and the Final was taken into sudden death.

Pom won by knowing the exact speed the back to the future DeLorean had to travel to travel through time proving that not all trivial facts are useless. (88mph for those who have never seen the films)

The Final was for this trophy, provided by Traian who also edited the plaque for the competition, and for future smartassterminds.

After all rounds were played and all points counted here are the results.......

Its been a close run race and now it is down to two of our finest Trivia Junkies. Traian Khandr and Pomegranate Sorbet.

Smartasstermind returns.

This time it will be bigger and better and of course bigger prize pot.

So will you take up the challenge, will Maelstrom Janus defend his title.

RULES AND REQUIREMENTS

Please read through this post, there is everything you need to know about the contest.

Any other questions please IM me in world Hummingbird Forster.

When filling out your application, please ensure to pick a ''specialist topic''. Previous Contestants picked a general topic, this is too wide spread, so please save me time dont send me applications with topics just stating geography, history, literature etc.
You will be asked 10 questions on your specialist and 10 questions on General knowledge
The general knowledge questions are choosen fairly, and the ten questions are spread over 10 generalised topics.
On day of contest 5 minutes will be allocated for you to answer each set of ten questions, so you can google but advised not too as it will eat into your time.
if you pass on a question you will not be allowed to return to that question
There will like last time be spectators, hoping to win some lindens on the questions you missed, they are asked as usual not to shout out, and they were very good last time. HOWEVER if a spectator shouts out depending on whether you have answered question already or passed the HOST will determine whether you be allocated another question. NO ARGUEMENTS.
ANY Disputes on questions will be discussed after your 5 minute allocation for the round. But will not tolerate contestants ''picking'' at questions, It is a game after all and i HATE people who try and scrimp for points.
100 Linden to enter - entry fees need to be paid to me by the 25th May. NO entry fee no taking part, you pay before the event because myself and my hosts spend time choosing questions and we do not wish to write them up for you not to take part.
90% of the entry fees will be in the pot for winner and runners up. the other 10% tends to go to the audience payouts.
In the event of a dead heat we will attempt to get the contestants in this situation to get together on the last day of the event for a quick fire round.

Thats all i can think of to say at the minute if i get reminded of anything else to add i will.

For those of you who know me, love me, and hate me I'm Luci, the resident redhead of Double Standards. The fire on my head is there to match my spirit.

I'm so lucky to call Hummingbird my best friend, but even that's not enough. She's more like the sister I should have had. She asked me to be a part of Double Standards and I jumped at the chance. I've been coming to double standards since I started on SL. You're always guaranteed a warm welcome and a lot of fun at trivia, and it's a great place to sit and chill as well.

Apart from trivia I now enjoy fishing, building and generally roaming around SL. I have a great place on the beach as well.

I host Sundays at 10am and Wednesday at 4pm. I also co-host at Moysies Games on Mondays at 12pm.
